MechWarrior: Online - Cataphract CTF-4X Build (Updated)

Cataphracts have never been my favourite Mechs, hell I actually hate all of them, they're just damn ugly. Give me a Warhammer (aka. Hothammer) any day. But there's only 1 Cataphract I can stand, and that's the CTF-4X.

The Cataphract CTF-4X has many issues which make it simply inferior to the Jagermech. The first of which; is that its torsos are easy to hit. As far as I'm concerned it's as fat as an Awesome. The second issue is that it's arms hang low, you reveal your whole body if you want to "Snipe". The third issue; this Cataphract is just too damn slow.

But stats don't make a Mech, they contribute to it, but the real deal is having fun, and for me, multiple Ballistics and their rhythmic beat is fun.

I reject the current Meta and substitute... errr... something else!! Now check out this build!!

MechWarrior: Online - Jagermech JM6-S Build (Balloon Blaster)

UPDATE 2: The latest patch (May 21st, 2013) has been released today and this build has become much more powerful (mainly due to the buff of the AC5).

The Jagermech is vast becoming my favourite Mech of all time. It's just so much fun to play and is so versatile. It can do almost everything; from boating Ballistics (JM6-DD) to boating Missiles (JM6-A). It even has an "All-Rounder" variant, the JM6-S.

But truly, forget all that. All you need to know is that the Jagermech has the best rhythmic sound of all Mechs. Nothing says fun like the rhythmic sing of "BOOM, DAKKA, DAKKA, DAKKA, BOOM, DAKKA, DAKKA, DAKKA!!" Today's build, emphasises this rhythmic beat!

What I want to see in a HeroMech Jagermech

I always say I don't buy MC because I'm poor. But I have to give PGI the thumbs up for making this game. Also a thumbs up for making me somewhat addicted. Addicted enough that I'm willing to buy MC so I can purchase a HeroMech. Would make grinding for the next Mech less painful and annoying.

So what kind of HeroMech would I buy? Well from the title I'd buy a Jagermech. I love Jagermechs. It like my CPLT-Jager Destroyer, but without the major head issues. Well, Jagermechs are somewhat easy to headshot too. But I haven't had a single death by that yet. Least it's not like my Catapult who just walks across the river in River City and get's headshotted at the start of the match!!

Anywho, what would I like to see in a HeroMech Jagermech? Very simple, I want 1 Ballistic and 1 Energy Hardpoint per arm, with maybe 1 Missile Hardpoint per torso. This would allow me to have dual AC5s and dual Large Lasers per arm. Just like the Rifleman!! WHOO!!

Yeah the Rifleman kinda sucks, but it is in the original BattleMech book, and is an iconic Mech in the whole game!! It's Unseen and Reseen though.

Here's the slightly graphical way of seeing this Mech.

RA - 1 Ballistic, 1 Energy

LA - 1 Ballistic, 1 Energy

RT - 1 Missile

LT - 1Missile

It feels like a Jagermech, but quite different too. Besides, a Jagermech is not a Jagermech without at least 1 Ballistic per arm!

MechWarrior: Online - Stalker Misery Build (STK-M)

So the new toy we get to play with has just been released. I see a lot of cheese Misery builds. By cheese I mean 4 ER PPCs and 1 Gauss builds. These builds are really meager and weak. Any competent pilot can easily kill this build (assuming they get within range). Aim for that left Torso which is so easy to hit :)

But my build, well it's a different "All-Round" build. It can snipe and brawl when needed. It's surprisingly pretty durable!

Insomnia

Quick message as I really lack the time. I'm starting, or rather recently started to suffer from insomnia and stress. Uni is really starting to take its toll on me; plus the stress of family; these past few months haven't been kind to me.

MechWarrior: Online - Catapult CPLT-K2 Build (Jager Destroyer)

I've been piloting the Catapult for so long, I only just figured out that the Catapult has a major issue with its head. It's so damn easy to headshot it's not even funny anymore. This means I just gotta stay well away from the enemy. To do so I have to change the Mech from Brawler to Sniper. Also the current Meta favours snipers anyway...

I don't buy MC, not because I don't want to support the game, but because I actually have no credit card... and I'm kinda poor. So that means I have to make do with what I got and slowly grind C-Bills. Which means I have to make do with cheap (C-Bills wise) Mechs. With that in mind, it's time I reveal some useful (yet cheap) builds.

MechWarrior: Online Highlander HGN-733P (Theory) Build

UPDATE 1: Due to the latest patch (June 18th, 2013), Large Pulse Lasers have been nerfed. This "Theory" build has been rendered worthless.
