It's a new year!

It's that time of year again; that time where we look back and reflect upon what we have accomplished, or done through the year.

For me; this year has been super successful in terms of this blog. When this blog first started, I didn't really have a goal, other than if I posted something 1 week, I'd get an extra 3% on unit. Which made the difference between me going from that Distinction to a High Distinction.

But then; this year came along, and I decided this blog needed to go somewhere. I didn't want to be some generic blog on the internet. I wanted it to be something. And I believe I've achieved it. I don't need the big 1 million hits per year. I'm simply happy with 5000 per Month (12000 per year).

Reasoning; I have a dedicated viewer base. You know who you are, and I do too (least some of you). I've met you in-game once before. I might have killed you, lost to you, or been on the same team. I still remember the encounter.

In terms of blogging and posting; I now have a a nice 150 posts. Most of it should be filled with nice builds; and snippets of information, now old. But regardless, I stayed true to my goal and achieved 1 post per week! I'm happy with 2013.

What happened to my YouTube channel? It's technically been created, but during my recordings, I found that my machine couldn't handle it. It was really a disappointment. I thought my machine was pretty decent. I can play most games (if not all) on High graphical settings, with MWO being played on Medium. Regardless, I'll try and scavenge the money needed to upgrade. Hopefully then I can do nice Let's Plays!

Anyway, I hope this year has been good for you too. Being an Aussie and living in a +10GMT zone, I'll be in the new year a few hours ahead of you guys.

And so; I bid you a Happy New Year!! Cya on the other side!

World of Tanks!

Well; it's that time of year again! The super busy time where it's snowing, people singing and where family can huddle together! Well that's what I imagine Christmas to be. But down here in the land down under, it's eye candy (if you get my drift), beaches and super hot weather whilst spreading the Christmas cheer!

But anyway, I've been super busy as of late; been working on my miniatures and playing new games! Like World of Tanks! Alright, it's not a new game, but I recently started playing it.

Afterall, we all experience a MechWarrior burnout. Least I am currently; don't worry though, I'll still keep pumping out Mech builds each weak!!

Anyway, I might be still a newb at WoT; however I'm ironically not too bad. Least I'm really good in my German Hetzer and Russian Churchill III, whilst decent in the Russian KV-1! I've also, through various guides, found out the best upgrade order for the tanks I plan on running. I know what I'm doing!

Well kinda...

MechWarrior: Online - Griffin GRF-3M Build

Well guess what? The Sabre Mechs have finally arrived!! Well they've arrived today for me. Gotta love time zone differences...

Regardless, I actually really super love the Griffin. The Wolverine seems a bit meh. But then again, I haven't bothered to run it. Appearance wise, I love the Griffin! It just feels like my beloved Centurions! But with Jump Jets!!

Admittedly, the only issue with the Griffin I've found so far, is that lop-sided (right-sided) weapon layout. Regardless, I've found it super fun. I haven't piloted it enough, to judge weather or not XL Engines are the main way to go.
From the ashes we'll rise... the Phoenix Mechs have returned... all shall burn before our might!

MechWarrior: Online - Clans!!

Who's SUPER STOKED!! I know I am! Oh wait, why am I super stoked? Check the title! The invasion is coming!

PGI have finally announced and have all the Clan Mechs up for Pre-Order!! The Clan Mechs we'll be getting are: Kit Fox (Uller), Adder (Puma), Nova (Black Hawk), Stormcrow (Ryoken), Summoner (Thor), Timber Wolf (Mad Cat), Warhawk (Masakari) and Dire Wolf (Daishi)!!

Truly, my loyalties are now at conflict!! Will I convert to a Clanner or stay loyal to the Inner Sphere? Regardless, who cares about text!! IMAGES!!!

MechWarrior: Online - Sabre Mech Images Leaked

Well guess what? The Sabre Mech in-game images have been released! It could also be leaked. I really don't know; but NGNG always seem to be releasing them!

Regardless, I'm super stoked for the Sabre Mechs! I'm more excited for the Griffin than I am for the Wolverine unfortunately. I reckon it's because I have no idea what to do with that Wolverine. Though I have many ideas for the Griffin!!

Anyway, you're more interested in images than you are text; and so here they are!

MechWarrior: Online - Sabre Mech Specifications Leaked

This information is ironically very old (November 29); but not many people know about it. Truth be told, not even I knew of it! I reckon it was hidden in the toxic place known as the MWO: Forums.

Regardless, we know the Hardpoints of all the variants of both the Wolverine and the Griffin.

MechWarrior: Online - Oxide Released and Build

Well, I was expecting and hoping for a Hunchback HeroMech, but instead got a damn Light Mech. I personally don't see much point in Light Mechs... I just hate them. Then again, this is coming from the dude who cannot really pilot a Light Mech well. I am a Medium/Heavy Mech Pilot after all :P

Regardless, the Jenner HeroMech has finally arrived!! It's known as "Oxide". Now there's something very entertaining about this HeroMech, and it's the "Pay-to-Win" controversy. I'll let you in on a secret. This HeroMech is not remotely Pay-to-Win.

PGI; for all their negatives, have done one thing really, really, really super well, and it's making sure the HeroMechs are not Pay-to-Win. Truth be told, the standard variants are generally better than the HeroMechs. That's still the case with this Oxide.

The Oxide has merely 4 Missile Hardpoints and 1 AMS Hardpoint. That's practically it. It has no Jump Jets to speak of. It's practically a Commando in Jenner's clothing.

If PGI wanted to make the Oxide OP and "Pay-to-Win", then this thing would have Jump Jets and 2 extra Energy Hardpoints (giving it 6 Hardpoints in total like all the other Jenners).

Anime 'of the Month'

Source: http://bit.ly/HWbbEP

'of the Month' is a new segment where I basically spotlight 'Something Awesome'. This will happen on the 1st of each month.

So what is 'Something Awesome'? Well 'Something Awesome' can range from Artists, Music, Movies, Games and anything else that is worth mentioning! If you know 'Something Awesome' that should be mentioned on my Blog, then just share it in the comments!

MechWarrior: Online - Shadow Hawk SHD-2H(P) Build

Some people find that the Shadow Hawk SHD-2H(P) to be the weakest of all 3 Shadow Hawk variants. This is primarily due to the 3 Ballistic hardpoints.

Well let me tell you something naysayers, the SHD-2H(P) is far from weak! It's actually extremely powerful, BECAUSE of it's 3 Ballistic hardpoints!

Hell, the SHD-2H(P) is probably my favourite Shadow Hawk variant just because how cool it looks with 3 Ballistic weapons mounted in its Left Torso!

MechWarrior: Online - Shadow Hawk SHD-5M Build

Shadow Hawks are becoming; or rather have become everyone's favourite Phoenix Mech; and for good reason too. They're unfortunately super tall for a Medium Mech; however they have good mobility, good hitboxes and have a high mounted Ballistic Hardpoint. Their only 2 failings are how super tall they are (as per usual PGI cannot scale Mechs properly) and the fact that the current Meta favours Heavy and Assault BattleMechs.

However, that doesn't make the Shadow Hawk obsolete they are a very good Medium Mech, easily able to hold their own against other Mechs. They're very versatile, and work very well in packs of 3 to 4.

Chaos Space Marine - Obliterator Conversion Painted

Guess what? After a long hiatus from Warhammer 40k, I'm back! And I've finally finished painting my favourite Chaos Space Marine Units, the Obliterator.

It's about time too, it's been practically a year since I first converted these guys, but they're practically done! I might need to "dirty" them up a bit by using some weathering powders, but eh; I'm happy with how they are.

Anyway, less talk and MOAR pics!

MechWarrior: Online - Orion Protector Build

Image courtesy of the MechWarrior: Online Wiki

Well, well... Never thought I would ever buy the Orion Protector HeroMech. I never regarded the Orion as a good Mech due to the hitbox issue. But it was on sale! I can't resist sales! Well I can, but it's an Orion... it's the closest thing to an Atlas you'll ever see me in!

The Orion was pretty dreadful due to its hitbox issue prior patch (November 19th, 2013). Post patch however, I've been hearing reports that the Orion is so much better now. I can confirm exactly this! The Orion is like a whole new Mech now. Admitedly, my Center Torso still takes the full brunt of the damage; however if I twist, my Side Torsos take the damage instead.

By the time I die, usually all my Torsos have practically no armour, with their internals shot!

I really enjoy piloting the Orion! I truly do. PGI did really well with this Patch.

MechWarrior: Online - Cataphract CTF-3D Build

Image courtesy of the MechWarrior: Online Wiki

Well guess what? Cataphracts are now my all time favourite Mech in MWO. I used to think they were super ugly, but that look kinda grows on ya. Like I said, it's like a Pug (I mean the dog). Pugs are super ugly, but they're super KAWAII!!!

Anyway, out of all the current Cataphract variants, the most powerful and versatile is easily the CTF-3D. None of the other variants can remotely compare to it. Don't get me wrong, the Ilya Muromets is a close 2nd, with the CTF-1X clearly the 3rd choice. But the CTF-3D easily trumps them all.

First of all, it has 2 Ballistic Hardpoints, 4 Energy and Jump Jets. It's got superb maneuverability for a 70 Ton Mech, with a good Hitbox.

It can literally do everything. However, one of my favourite builds on this thing, utilises its strengths as a Brawler

MechWarrior: Online - Heavy BattleMech I want Included

People have been wishing for certain/specific Mechs to be included in the game, the first of which is the much loved Marauder and the Warhammer (ignoring all Medium Mechs as there will be no more Medium Mechs up until Clans come out).

However, those 2 Mechs will never be included unless Harmony Gold can yank that stick that's been shoved right up their *** [Insert Super Harmony Gold Hate].

Right, regaining composure, since neither of those Mechs will be included (I'll eat my words when a miracle happens), I reckon a very good Heavy Mech that should be included is, the Hammerhands.

The Hammerhands is a Mech featured in the 3075 Technical Readout, in which it's the predecessor to the iconic and much loved Warhammer.

'Build Dump' is a new segment where I basically dump a huge amount of Mech Builds in one go. These builds can range anywhere between "Tried and Tested" to a complete new "Theory Build".

Unfortunately, due to how many Mech Builds are being dumped, I won't be putting any description of how that build should be played (I'll leave that for the individual Mech Build posts).

However, I will provide the bare essential details in the following format:

MechWarrior: Online - Jester Released and Build Idea

I'm a tad late with this, but hey, better late than never right? Anyway, the Catapult HeroMech, Jester, has been released. As everyone expected, the Jester comes with Jump Jets, 6 Energy Hardpoints and 2 AMS. In addition, it has a very large engine capacity, making it super fast.

What's its weakness? The fact that it's Torso Twist is very restricted, matching that of a Thunderbolt or Dragon in terms of how far it can twist. Of course, this can be negated by Jump Jets.

I really cannot say much about this HeroMech to be honest. It really isn't outstanding. Maybe it's cos I'm waiting for the Misery and Dragon Slayer to go on sale... PGI did skip an Assault Mech sale last Month for some reason (only to be replaced by sub par Mechs on sale).
Why so serious?

MechWarrior: Online - Victor Dragon Slayer Build

Image courtesy of the MechWarrior: Online Wiki

I swear, ever since that tournament, poptart builds have become so much more prevalent. I remember only ever seeing 1 or 2 every game (per side), but now I see about 8 poptarts per side. It's seriously starting to borderline ridiculous!

As I've stated previously, I cannot argue against their effectiveness. I super detest them, but they do work, and they do work well.

Anyway, I believe you can guess what sort of Dragon Slayer build, today's build is. I'll give you one guess...
If you can't beat them, join them.

MechWarrior Online - Catapult HeroMech Revealed

Everyone believed that the Founder's Mechs (Jenner, Hunchback, Catapult and Atlas) would never have a HeroMech released. How wrong we were. The first of these 4 Mechs to get a Hero variant was the Atlas. Several, many hours ago (yeah I'm a tad bit late with this news) the second was revealed.

Please welcome to the MechBay, the Catapult HeroMech, Jester!!

It would appear that PGI will be releasing these HeroMechs in descending order. First the Atlas, now the Catapult. Hunchback then Jenner is what I'd expect next.

Anyway, forget about what's coming and lets take a look at what's been revealed!

MechWarrior: Online - Thunderbolt TDR-9SE Build

Well I've found a new more fun build for the Thunderbolt TDR-9SE! Truth be told, I absolutely hate poptarts and poptart builds, but I cannot argue against their effectiveness. From what a teammate has told me, the only reason these builds are effective, is because many pilots (PUGs specifically) are too cowardly to push when needed. Unfortunately even in real life scenarios, a push/charge will always have its casualties, and in games, this is no different.

Admittedly, there is a different between a suicide charge and a proper charge.

Regardless, I turned my TDR-9SE into a somewhat poptart build. It's not effective as my other poptart builds, but it does work, and works quite well.
From the ashes we'll rise... the Phoenix Mechs have returned... all shall burn before our might!

MechWarrior: Online - Shadow Hawk SHD-2H Build

Update 1 (2/12/2013 22:40): Updated build and post [Here].

I seriously feel the Shadow Hawk got the back end of things when it came down to the scaling of the Phoenix Mechs. I understand that weight doesn't equal size... but bloody hell, remind me why this thing is bigger than a Battlemaster? Is the damn thing hollow? Cos that would explain the crazy height!

In addition, the thing seriously feels super slow. It's moving at 81kph, but the Thunderbolt moving at 74kph feels way faster...

Regardless, the Shadow Hawk is seriously weak thanks to the scaling it got. Guess that's why only the insane MechWarriors pilot Medium Mechs :P

Anyway, the Shadow Hawk does have its moments, specially when you decide it'll be a funny idea to utilise all 3 Ballistic Hardpoints!

Advent Cafe - Scarlet's Commissions are OPEN!!

As a new member of Advent Cafe, it is my duty to help out in any way I can. One of them is help with advertising. I'm rather good at advertising if I do say so myself!

Anyway, I am proud to present that Scarlet's Commissions are now OPEN!! For a limited time only!

Details are as follows:

MechWarrior: Online - Battlemaster BLR-1D Build

I tell you, the first time I saw the Hardpoints of the BLR-1D, I thought, wow this might be the weakest Battlemaster Variant! But then, careful thinking and trying out different Builds, I find that this Battlemaster is actually pretty cool. And it looks super BADASS with 3 Ballistic Weapons in it's Arm.

The only problem is, I can't find a build that utilises all 3 Ballistics. I either run way too slow, or way too hot. So far, I found the most optimal is to use 2 Ballistics. Least, it's worked better than 3.

This build runs quite similar to my BLR-1G(P) Build, but then again, they are very similar in Hardpoints.
The Atlas might be the "King of the Battlefield", but there's only one true "Master of the Battlefield" and that's the Battlemaster.

MechWarrior: Online - Battlemaster BLR-1G Build

I seriously suck at piloting Assault Mechs. I come to this conclusion from the fact that I lose more in an Assault Mech than I do in any other Mech (Lights notwithstanding). This doesn't make me a dreadful Assault Mech pilot. It's just that I'm not super beneficial to a team when I'm in one. Then again, every single game I've lost in a Battlemaster was due to Base Cap...

Truth be told, I average 500+ damage per game in my Battlemaster, and easily score a minimum of 1 Kill with the other 2 stolen... So I know my build works.

Anyway, a Battlemaster is a super fun Mech to play. Anyone who hasn't bought the Overlord Package, I feel super sorry for you! You're seriously missing out on so much fun!
The Atlas might be the "King of the Battlefield", but there's only one true "Master of the Battlefield" and that's the Battlemaster.

MechWarrior: Online - Thunderbolt (TDR-5S, TDR-5SS, TDR-9SE) Build

Project Phoenix has finally arrived!! Everybody should've had a few days to mess around with each Mech whilst trying to find something super effective, that suits their taste. As for me, I've tried everything excluding the Shadow Hawk (haven't thought of anything cool for it yet).

From what I've tried, the Locust kinda sucks. Well I was expecting it to suck until set Tonnage Limits, but even then it'll suck. Super easy to One-Shot! In addition, the Locust which was suppose to be unique in that it was suppose to be the only Light Mech that can break the 150kph speed cap... well we know how the devs are XD

The Battlemaster is super fun to pilot, but I just can't seem to pull off Assaults. Maybe I need to try and Speed Tweak it before I can become a better Battlemaster Pilot. But then, I've just been doing dreadfully, I can easily score 500+ damage on average, but I just die heaps and haven't really won any game. Guess fate is telling me to play the Thunderbolt.

Out of all these Phoenix Mechs, I pilot the Thunderbolt the best. Maybe it's because it was the first Mech I ever laid eyes on, and I practically grew up loving it.

Anyway, these are the Thunderbolt Builds I've been using, and so far they're quite effective.

MechWarrior: Online - In-Game Phoenix Mech Images Leaked!!

Well we just got a massive load of images dumped!! The Locust, Shadow Hawk, Thunderbolt and Battlemaster Phoenix Mech images have just been leaked. Well they were leaked several hours ago.

Anyway, we a size comparison for all 4 of these Phoenix Mechs. I'll give you a warning however, PGI got 3 out of 4 Phoenix Mechs correct. Size wise, they screwed up majorly on the Shadow Hawk... and people wonder why they don't see many Medium Mechs about... maybe it's got something to do with them scaled terribly and are about the size of an Assault Mech...

Image source is from [here]. However, I have replicated the images below.

MechWarrior: Online - Beginner Mech Builds: Part 2, Heavy BattleMechs

What I've decided to do, is to help new players get acquainted with MWO. I won't be providing a Mentoring service in game; however I am willing to answer questions and explain things to a new/beginner player. I am by no means a "pro" however I'm pretty decent if I do say so myself. I know my way around a MechLab and generally build pretty decent/effective Mechs.

On average, a new player who recently finished their Cadet Bonus will have approximately 8 mil CBills to 10 mil CBills. Unfortunately, to have a decent/powerful Heavy Mech Build, one must be willing to spend more than what they could earn with the Cadet Bonus. Which means that the "Beginner Builds" I'll suggest are all within the budget of 13 mil CBills.
With the introduction taken care of; Welcome to Part 2 of Beginner Mech Builds, the Heavy BattleMech!

MechWarrior: Online - In-Game Shadow Hawk Variant Image Leaked!

I tell thee, ComStar is having major security issues. I wonder who's risking their life to provide us MechWarriors with such juicy images and information? I too would like to help his/her organisation in hacking ComStar! I'm a MechWarrior, I can provide protection!

Anyway, check out the Shadow Hawk Variant image above! It's sporting the (recently) unlocked Flame pattern.

Which Shadow Hawk Variant is it? I know. I also know what Hardpoints it comes with! :P

MechWarrior: Online - In-Game Thunderbolt Image Leaked!

Short post today. In-Game Thunderbolt image has been leaked! This time I dunno by who. Well I kinda know that NGNG posted it up on their Facebook, but I have no idea who they got it from.

Anyway, I really quite like it. It's a little bit meh, but maybe its the angle. But I like it, mainly cos if captures the Thunderbolt truly. The off-center Cockpit and the Missile Rack!! The Side Torsos seem quite easy to hit; the Center Torso as well.

I dunno, it feels bulky. I hope the Hitboxes will be good on this thing... I hope... It deserves it; it is the legendary Thunderbolt after all!

Well guess what? We're practically one week away from getting our hands on the Phoenix Mechs!! ALL 12 Phoenix Mechs!! I seriously super can't wait!! This is gonna be super AWESOME!!

I'm already having major difficulties trying to choose which to pilot first. I'm thinking Shadow Hawk as it can fulfill the Striker roll I excel at. But the Thunderbolt is super fantastic!! Then we have the Battlemaster in all it's Assault Mech glory!! And we have the super tiny Locust who's just, well the Locust, 'nuff said.

Anyway, Russ Bullock has leaked the Shadow Hawk and Battlemaster in-game image. Thank you Russ, you're making me super excited!

Check it out, right meow!!

MechWarrior: Online - Boar's Head Released and Build Idea

Today is patch day! Least it's patch day down here in Australia. Remember, Time Zones are super crazy, I'm 10 Hours into the future!!

Anyway, today's Patch Notes are pretty big. Big as in, a new map, Crimson Strait; and more importantly, the most expensive and largest HeroMech to date, the Atlas HeroMech, Boar's Head!

Seems I was totally wrong. It's just a complete random HeroMech not based on any existing Custom Atlas. I was right about the Hardpoints though.

MechWarrior: Online - Hunchback HBK-4P Build (Upgraded Swayback)

Image courtesy of the MechWarrior: Online Wiki

I never knew how much fun Hunchbacks could be till I piloted the HBK-4P for the first time. There's something thrilling about slicing limbs off BattleMechs whilst cooking yourself alive... Ok that doesn't sound very thrilling, but acting like a 50 Ton Plasma Cutter is!
I reject the current Meta and substitute... errr... something else!! Now check out this build!!

MechWarrior: Online - Atlas HeroMech Revealed

Everyone believed that the Founder's Mechs (Jenner, Hunchback, Catapult and Atlas) would never have a HeroMech released. How wrong we were. It would seem we are now definitely getting HeroMechs for the Jenner, Hunchback, Catapult and Atlas; the first of which is the Atlas, dubbed "Boar's Head".

I have a feeling, this Atlas HeroMech will be released next week. I'm betting I'll be right XD

MechWarrior: Online - Centurion; 'To XL Engine, or to not XL Engine, that is the question'

Many people reckon XL Engines are usually best on the lighter Mechs more so then heavier ones. This is mainly due to the extra weight saved so that it can grant these Mechs the much needed firepower they normally lack. In addition, depending on the XL Engine chosen, they can usually achieve much higher speeds giving them extra survivability!!

However Centurions are the most survivable Mech, especially more so without an XL Engine! They're known for being Zombies for a reason!

So the question is, are XL Engines on Centurions worth it?

MechWarrior: Online - Official Release and Thoughts

Release
MechWarrior: Online has officially been released today! Well technically the 17th of September, but for me, it's the 18th!

Unfortunately, this is one super underwhelming release. I understand not everything can be released at this time... but it's still not a full game whatsoever. U.I. 2.0 hasn't been released yet, Community Warfare isn't released yet either. How can MW:O be released when the major functionality haven't been completed or implemented?

There's no "Launch" party either. Or at least, a proper Launch party for the fans. I'm not entitled to anything mind you, but I was expecting something super AWESOME!! Like massive sales for 24 Hours only! That would at least hide the fact their releasing a game that isn't remotely near completed.

Update: MechWarrior: Online - Kintaro KTO-18 Build

Update 1 (17/09/2013 19:30): This is no longer a Theory Build. These builds have now been tried and tested by me, and work very surprisingly well. The last build however with 5 LRM 5s is still just a Troll Build...

Well, the Kintaro is a very surprisingly powerful Medium Mech. It still suffers from Center Torso issues, but it isn't as bad as it once was. From what I can gather (by fighting them), their Rear Center Torso is pretty easy to hit; most (if not all) my AC/10 Damage went straight the the Rear Center Torso. But then, the pilot should've noticed me approaching.

Anyway, I'm now very tempted to buy the Kintaro KTO-18. Especially more-so now, that I've seen my team utilise a team of these. They really pull of the Striker role fantastically.
I reject the current Meta and substitute... errr... something else!! Now check out this build!!

MechWarrior: Online - Stalker 5M Build (Gordos)

Image courtesy of the MechWarrior: Online Wiki

I take it people would be expecting a Beginner MechBuilds: Part 2, Heavy BattleMechs this week. However I'm still writing and judging the current Heavy Mechs to determine their worth to a new player. I find that the best Heavy Mechs for beginners is the Cataphract, Jagermech and to some degree, the Catapult (however I personally dislike the Catapult).

Instead, this week, I shall be posting a build that works quite surprisingly well. I'm not generally an Assault Mech pilot as I absolutely hate their slow speed. After all, the role I fill is a Striker or Suppressor. But when I do pilot an Assault Mech, I make sure to bring the hurt!

MechWarrior: Online - Orion HeroMech Released, Variants Revealed and Thoughts!!

The long awaited Orion BattleMech has finally been released!! This BattleMech was supposed to have been released about 2 or so months ago. But instead we got one of the worst Mechs the Quickdraw (aka Quickderp as many players call it).

But wait no more! We finally can get our hands on the first of the 75 Ton Heavy BattleMechs!! Well, if you buy the HeroMech, you no longer have to wait. The rest of us may have to wait 2 weeks before we can pilot the Orion.

The Orion HeroMech is called Protector (ON1-P). We know nothing about the story of this Mech (PGI should really release some cool short stories to go with each HeroMech). However, if one is observant enough, one would realise that the ON1-P is actually in fact the ON1-K (aka Kerensky); the very same Orion piloted by the famous Aleksandr Kerensky. The Protector shares the exact same weaponry, armour and stats as the Kerensky.
"ON1-K Kerensky - The personal BattleMech of SLDF commanding general Aleksandr Kerensky during the against the Usurper. Designers removed the LRM-20 and LB-X Autocannon/10 to make for other equipment. The other equipment is a snub-nose PPC in the left torso and an Artemis IV Fire Control System for SRMs. The right torso has a Gauss Rifle in the former location of the LB-X Autocannon/10. The medium lasers from the original model are retained. Finally, ferro-fibrous armor is used for added protection. BV (2.0) = 1,821"

Anyway, lets take a look at the Orions shall we?

MechWarrior: Online - Beginner Mech Builds: Part 1, Medium BattleMechs

What I've decided to do, is to help new players get acquainted with MWO. I won't be providing a Mentoring service in game; however I am willing to answer questions and explain things to a new/beginner player. I am by no means a "pro" however I'm pretty decent if I do say so myself. I know my way around a MechLab and generally build pretty decent/effective Mechs.

On average, a new player who recently finished their Cadet Bonus will have approximately 8 mil CBills to 10 mil CBills. Which means that the "Beginner Builds" I'll suggest are all within the budget of 9 mil CBills.
With the introduction taken care of; Welcome to Part 1 of Beginner Mech Builds, the Medium BattleMech!

Least we're getting the Wolverine and Griffin!!
Project Phoenix is a go! The Unseen are back! After all these years, they are back! Back with a vengeance! Welcome to the battlefield; Locust, Shadow Hawk, Thunderbolt and Battlemaster! Welcome, a further 2 additions; Wolverine and Griffin!!

MechWarrior: Online - Jagermech Firebrand Build

Image courtesy of the MechWarrior: Online Wiki

I've recently been playing around with "non-conventional" weapons. By "non-conventional" I mean weapons that people generally view as pretty terrible. Actually... they're known to be pretty crap weapons.

But didn't you know, "they're crap until you get killed by it!"

Jagermechs are known to have massive Side Torsos, meaning running a XL Engine is a hit and miss. But in order to fully utilise the Jagermechs, you have no choice but to go for an XL Engine. I took upon the challenge to come up with a Jagermech (hence Firebrand) build that utilises a Standard Engine, whilst still being effective.
I reject the current Meta and substitute... errr... something else!! Now check out this build!!

Zoids - Gojulas 1/72 RZ-001 (Limited Production) by Kotobukiya

Image courtesy of HobbyLink Japan (Facebook)

Have I ever told you how much I love Zoids? No? How rude of me. I absolutely love Zoids!! I've watched every single series of Zoids (Chaotic Century, New Century Zero, Fuzors and Genesis) and still begging for more!! I really wish they'd renew it or make a new Zoids anime!!

I even own several Zoids models kits. None by Kotobukiya however; they're just way too pricey. But maybe this will be my first one? The Konig Wolf has always been my personal number 1 favourite. But the Gojulas is easily a 2nd!! Just look at that image above. Isn't it just beautiful!!

If you thought Kotokukiya Zoids were expensive, this thing is doubly so! It goes for 198 USD which is about 220 AUD... I still want it.

Anyway, MOAR pictures!!
